Traditional louvers made of faux wood(also called colonial louvers) are 1¼" in width, and support a maximum window opening measurement of 96" wide by 74" high. Shutters over 74" In length will be made double hung and are special orders. Any height over 36" will have at least one horizontal divider rail.

Extra wide café style installations are heavier and are only recommended for decorative purposes. The middle panels will stand on your sill utilizing a furniture prop-up button. Installations where the shutter panels are openened frequently should not utilize "Extra Wide" café style.

Choosing Single Hung - Double-Hung - Cafe Style

Single Hung Shutters

A single shutter set will cover the entire height of the window opening.

Double Hung Shutters

Two shutter sets will cover the entire height of the window opening, with one shutter set covering the bottom, and the other covering the top. You can specify the height of the bottom shutter set if you don't want the top and bottom shutters to be the exact same height. The top shutter set can be opened independently of the bottom one.

Cafe Style Shutters

A single shutter set will cover only a portion of the window opening, usually one half to two thirds of the height of the window opening. Cafe style can be useful if you wish to place a fabric valance in front of the top section of the window.

Frame assembly required for all shutters	L frame will require some finish work when used for inside mounts(caulking)
When choosing an outside mount L frame add 1 1/4 " to every side for the frame to mount around the opening	Numerous panel configurations available
Precise measurements recommended for any inside mounted shutter	When choosing an outside mount add 1 1/4" to all sides for a 4 sided frame with no window sill, when choosing 3 sided L-frame add 1/1/4" to all 3 sides, for 4 sided L-frame with window sill add 2 1/2" to width and 1 1/4" to height." If mounting over existing molding measure edge of molding to edge of molding. 3 Sides Usually Means You Have A Window Sill.
